a mate of mine was saying when he tried to sign up the coach or whoever the sign up guy is was acting the prick and said if ya hadnt played county there wasnt much point signing up last year, anyone know if this goes on ,

i know dit got to the sigerson final recently but its a stupid idea only going for county players cos its pretty handy play underage county for some of the smaller counties whereas theres tons of decent players who never played county in counties like kerry, cork, mayo etc....

anyone know if its true that this happens?? and is their only pitch at grangegorman?? - cos that place is a joke

Not in the College but know the trainer v.well. (not a prick by the way :P)
The freshers team is quite tough to get on and unless you're Minor Intercounty, theres not much hope of making the A team. There are trials though, so even if you aren't a county minor you'll still get to prove you're good enough. However there is a Fresher B team who play the same amount of matches and any fresher gets on that team.

but minor intercounty in some of the leinster counties (no offence) isnt any real indication of any great talent, ive seen longford county minors who would not make ordinary minor club teams in kerry, plus the politicised nature of some of these minor panels make them less about talent and more about which club the selectors are from, fair enough if there are trials but from what my mate said the coach really put him off so he just said f**c that and didnt bother going

Ha well thats his own problem. And by the way even if you wern't Intercounty Minor but from Kerry you'd be looked at in a favourable light... trust me. We might not be talking about the same coach, but the senior Coach is from Kerry and has a v.good knowlege of Munster football.

ok i was talking about gaelic football then in the op (see i mentioned sigerson) - for all you sensitive soccer types afraid to say soccer ,

heard the soccer team are even more exclusive than the gaelic team, its what bugs people when they hear s.u knobs say " get involved- join a team " blah blah - ok for example my favourite sport is soccer but the college team dont even have trials and are a closed club as far as new players are concerned - how the f**k do i get involved then???
