    Hey mods,

Apologies if this has been raised and addressed already but I've not noticed it.

I was wondering if the new forum layout is to remain indefinitely or if there was a period of time where it would be reviewed as I have not got used to having the Events kept seperate from the rest of the threads. I definitely liked it much more the old way but as I say, if the public have spoken then I guess I'll have to get used to it...eventually!!

Nothing is ever set in stone - we can change anything and everything if enough people want us to.

Speaking personally I think the new layout is great, it's done everything I hoped it would. Event specific chat is in one location, all the chatter is in that place and if someone wants to see whats coming up they can scan the thread titles and there is a pretty full list of events laid out.

Likewise in the main forum we have a lower number of threads started now which means that threads stay on page 1 for longer so conversations last longer (eg the shortest LSR thread). Maybe a coincidence but since we moved all of the road race threads into a dedicated event forum we have also had a blossoming of tri related threads as well.

And teh race threads tend to be quite intimidating - lots of people who know each other in real life planning meets. That can be off-putting to newbies. Again maybe a coincidence but we've had a lot of new reg and new contributors since splitting.

That said if there is a compelling set of reasns to merge back or a strong majority want it back how it was I'm sure we can do it.

I have to say I agree with all of amadeus points and wasn't aware of some of those added benefits.

It took some time to get used to and the biggest drawback is the extra toing and froing required.

Actually, here's an idea, can a link to the events page be added to the training log page and vice versa.

    Just adding my two cents,

I was initially slow enough to warm to the changes, as I feared the T&F side of things would get swallowed up by its flatmates (triathlons, etc), but I'm happy with it now and as -A- said above, it's bringing a lot more new reg's to the site which can only be good.

But, again, we're always open to new ideas.

It's a +1 from me, but I do agree O.I. would be nice if the sub-forum placeholder was visible from the sub-forum pages.

I'm very happy but what I would like to see is at the top of the page where you see the last post of the training logs and events forum, would be to see the last 2or3 threads that were posted on in the event forum, happy enough with just the last posting on the training logs.
My reason for that is, I think the pearl izumi race thread which has great info on it for all boardsies seems lost, because someone posted on the Blarney. Not a big thing but not eye catching.
