You could study modern languages at the Open University. Here are some free sample lessons: http://openlearn.open.ac.uk/course/category.php?id=9. I haven't taken this course myself but I was talking to someone who's doing modern languages (French and English) and I know you have to record yourself speaking French for some of the assignments. I guess that since this is a distance course you'd need to make sure you get enough speaking practice.
