I'd say that it's extremely unlikely given that you've missed your opportunity to make an application for this year. You'd have to go into first year Arts which will already be fully subscribed with applications via the CAO system. Even if people don't take up the offers they're still only at the second round and they'll be offering the places to other CAO applicants.

I'm not aware of any way around this for someone who wants to start a completely new course. Perhaps someone else may have a suggestion.

Eh im pretty certain you cant...talk to someone in UL...a guidence councillor or someone thatd know...whatever about gettin into another course in UL, changin colleges now wont happen i think!!:(:(
I'd say give Sports Science some time...it might grow on ya and if you still hate it later start again next year? Im givin arts a go but not sure if il stick it out like!! ;);)

It might well be possible, my mother is a lecturer in the nursing and midwifery deparment, said that last year they got a student transferring a month late from Trinity... however, I transferred courses (within NUIG) last year after a month also and had a lot of trouble organising it. You might as well go for it and see what happens, you might get lucky!

Talk at home and talk to those running course in Trinity first? Still time to re apply with CAO for course AFAIK. Best off checking admissions office of NUIG after talking at home and those running the course you've spent last year doing

Yes, you can. I did it myself (from DCU) for the exact same reason, I've never regretted it yet! The main requirements are a) you would gain entry to the course based on CAO points, ie. you can't transfer from a 300 point entry course to a 600 point entry one. And b) you pass all your first year exams. There may be other requirements based on faculty.

You'll find all the relavent information here:http://www.nuigalway.ie/admissions/transfer/

Specific to nursing is this document:
    http://www.nuigalway.ie/admissions/documents/2014_nursing_transfer_regulations__doc_finaldraft.pdf

Deadline is July 15th for all transfer requests, get working on it pronto!

What are you on about? CAO re-entry means repeating first year, which means paying full fees. Talking to course directors won't make Dublin any more appealing. If you don't like it, you don't like it and that's it. One year is MORE than enough to figure that out. There's absolutely no point spending 4 years of your life stuck somewhere you hate. Particularly when it's something you can change!
