First job is to locate said rabbits:D-then armed with a well zeroed rifle sneak up and shoot em!-seriously though youll have to locate good rabbit spots for yourself, this can be done by going out on land that you have permission to shoot on and spot them with Binocs, or by asking locals if they have seen any about-youll soon learn the hotspots;)

and you really have to sneak - as they are quick to disappear if you make too much noise. Weird is that some people drive with 4x4 into the field to hunt, and rabbits dont mind that noise at all...

Yep the bunnies dont mind the jeeps/tractors/cars.. even with radio on full blast.. they are used to traffic but not eejits trying to sneak up on them on all fours!!!

dont forget yer backstop for the safe shots!!

is it .22 or .17 etc??

either way, try for the head shots... more meat then!! lamping is also a very viable option with rifle!

i shoot bunnies with air rifle while my shooting partner shoots with .17hmr! we both return approx same bag at end of shoot, but im the one covered in muck!

That's a bit like the tried and true method of luring squirrels: act like a nut.

This is nonsense. It's true you cover my car in **** but I'm not prepared to have this balderdash go unopposed on a public forum.

I would have to say if I shoot any less than 3 times what you shoot it's cos I don't want any more bugs than that.

And then only if you use my AA boss. Get your scope zeroed to within 6 inches yet?

    Didn't think so. :p

Foxshooter said it. You have to put in some time observing land. Lots of time and lots of land. You could get lucky and be straight onto a hotspot by accident, more or less.

More likely you'll need to put in the hours, glassing likely areas, and go at the right time. Dusk/dawn being traditional.

If you see one on his own there's a chance Flanum has frightened him away from his cohort in the next county - but there will probably be more around, have a good squint around furze/whin bushy spots.

You'll get a feel for likely spots after a while - though myxy and that chinese virus have unfortunately wiped out whole colonies.

There are a good few 'hot spots' out there.

When you find one be sure to PM Flanum, AKA The fabled Close Quarter Ninja Dealer of Death to Oryctulagus Cuniculus. That way he'll miss almost everything and statistally reduce your chances of missing anything.

theres about 2 acres solid with furze on my own land with a stream on one side and silage fields on the other. from what you say this should be a likely spot am i right??

    thanks a lot lads..

If it's your land you should maybe have noticed a few about, no? Head over for a mooch with a dog if you've one - he should go yipping after any there.

Or just head out around eight this evening - if they're about you'll spot em.

Firing a half a box of rounds at the thing was worse. That'll all be sorted tomorrow.
