Cattle weigh scales

Hi

I am just wondering does anyone know where to source a reasonably priced weighing scale for weighing weanlings. They can be got new from an engineering company in southern ireland but they are 1,000 euro plus vat which is more than i can afford to spend on one.

They would be handy for weighing weanlings throughout the winter to see how they are performing.

You can estimate cattle weights using a measuring tape, it's not as accurate as a scales but it's a cheaper method if you cannot justify a scales. I use this method, I add 25% to results as there is that difference between estimated and actual weights.

was there a scales that could some how be attached to a keenan feeder to weigh cattle or am i dreaming i think you attached it to the side

hi ya, did you get a weighing scales? if not i may be able to help you, i have 1its an avery scales it can weigh 1000kg it was for calves in a livestock mart 500 euro it needs to be assembled its not too hard. email bsnshane@eircom.net
