Going abroad on the dole.

I signed on in June of this year. I was briefly off it for a few days in August and since then have been back on again. I have a 5 day trip abroad booked ages ago which I hope to still be able to go on. I'm aware that you can take up to 2 weeks holiday per year. I just have a few questions. Perhaps someone knows.
Is it per calendar year for everyone? For example, would I be entitled to two weeks this year, or since I'll only be on it for half the year, would I only be entitled to half?
I'm also applying for many jobs abroad (UK) and have gotten an interview for one. To go for such an interview, I'd need to take 2 days. Assuming, I need to go for more and I exceed the 2 weeks allowed, what would happen? I'd also like to sign off for a month and go do a language course abroad as I think it would increase my prospects of finding work. Would I be able to do that. OR would signing backon upon my return not be guaranteed?
Anyone who has done any of the above, I would appreciate any advice. I will ask in the office, but it is very hard to get hold of anyone.

For the job interview in the UK, you may be able to go without taking holidays if you have proof of having been invited to interview. I don't know for sure but if you ask they may let you.

Also, afaik, it's 2 weeks per calendar year regardless of when you sign on. Open to correction on this point.
