    Hi all,

I was wondering if somebody can help me:

I have a website that enables registration (built in Joomla) and I wish to expand the site and include a forum also (using phpbb). Is there anyway to track the details used to register for the website and have these useable in the forum also, instead of people having to create 2 log-ins: 1 for the main site and 1 for the forum

    Thanks,
    2

I don't know how to do it but I know it can be done. Joomla uses php as well so you could share the user table in the database. Perhaps some php expert will be able to tell you how exactly to do it. Maybe someone in the Programming forum.

I haven't done it myself, but I have worked on an environment where joomla and phpBB were bridged. Would the instructions here be something along the lines of what you are looking for?

There is a plugin, I think it's called JFusion, and it supports a few different popular forum systems: Invision, vB, phpBB and SMF among others, it allows dual-logins and bridging so the one username password would work on both systems. Have a look on Joomla's extensions site.

Im not sure if it's still around, I do remember one solution being around, but I think that became IP.Converge Modules instead, which is only available to IPS customers that I know of.

    Hi Lads,

I have decided to ditch Joomla and construct the site in wordpress instead.

I have downloaded a few forums like phpbb, bbpress, SMF and a few others, does anybody have any experience in these? Issues? Bridging?

Any favourites? Replies VERY MUCH appreciated
    Joe
