    Hi
Just looking for some feedback on a ski holiday I'm hoping to book for 5 people from 2nd-9th January 2010. We are all intermediate level.

This will be our 2nd/3rd time skiing (last year Andorra). Lots of people have recommened Austria as a good ski location. Problem is, which resort?!!

Have been told that Saalbach is excellent, but might be out of our price range. Also, I'm a little worried about Soll early January and the snow levels?

    Can anyone recommend Kitzbuhel?

I think one of our main priorities is APRES SKI!! :) Also, whats the crowd like inthis resort? Irish/English? - or more European?
Appreciate any advice you might have!

Not much difference between Soll and Kitzbuhel altitude/snow wise. If I were going early Jan I'd probably wait and book late if conditions are good.
Have you considered Zell am See? Glacier nearby at Kaprun if conditions at lower altitude are'nt great. Daytrips possible to Saalbach too if you want, good nightlife, biggish town with lots of non skiing stuff as well.

Mayrhofen! Skiing starts at 2000 meters (Although the village is only at 600) and there is a glacier up the road that is open all year round so you are going to ski no matter what

Apres is hopping. One of the finest in Europe thats why the hold the snowbombing festival there. Starting at the Elk bar at the top then down to the ice bar CARNAGE at the bottom of the Gondola then on to Scotland yard/Mo's in the early evening and then back to the Strass for the nightclub.

Crowd is about 30%English 20 % Irish 30% Dutch 10% German 5% Scandinavian 5% Russian although the week you are talking about is the Russian Christmas so there might be a few more Reds around.

PM me if you need anything on the place normally cheap enough. Can reccomend the 4* Nehaus hotel bout 8-9 min walk from the Gondola but can work out very cheap very cheap and it has pool sauna etc.

There is a place where you can rent and store you gear at the top of the Gongola saving you having to carry it every day and the slopes are plenty varied for Middle of the road skiers. Plus the pass covers about 600 km of piste and transport through the whole valley
