My CV is a tad long and teh reason is that though no fauklt of my own I've moved jobs every 2-3 years. I work in IT so I have long descriptions for each role. teh thing is most of them are more or less teh same.

what would be the best way of cutting it down? could i put down maybe a generic description of all echnologies and the only what was different in each role? what i mean is maybe a paragraph that states "all more roles to date have included A, B, C" then under role 1 put down " in addition to the above i also did D, E & F"

For an IT CV especially if you are a contractor have a technical section with 3 or 4 competency levels followed by the skill e.g:

Consulancy Level: Windows Server NT/2000/3/7 etc,
    Experienced: Cisco, SAP etc
    Exposure: Reporting Warehouse, Remedy rtc

Then for the roles have a two liner of the description then 2 or 3 bullets with key achievements in that roles.

    e.g:
3rd level Sys admin - Dates from & To

Sys admin for xxxx, responcible for xxxx, with aditional responcibility for xyz

    Key Achivements:
    • Rolled out xy&z on time and in budget
    • Designed a super computer that replaced all finance department
    • Etc, etc
I read IT CV's quite a bit for project work / perm roles and with the amount I am getting any more than two pages goes straight into recycle bin as they are tough to read.
