Right folks, after months of asking myself should I..... I've decided to bite the bullet and get the car I always wanted, a Mk5 R32 DSG:D
I know there'll be people shouting at their PCs that it's not worth it, but after having driven the Mk5 Gti DSG I've always wanted one..
R32 owners, is there any R32 specific issues I need to be on the look out for?
Appreciate any help ye can offer.
    Mick.

    Hi Mick,

I have had an R32 (dsg gearbox)since June 08. I had a gti (manual) before that. I can say i am extremely pleased with it and the only flaw is the price for a years tax !!! Instead of writing a review here if there are any particular questions you would like answered feel free to ask!

    Cheers

    Damien.

The Haldex fluid and filter (the 4wd controller) should be changed at 40k (miles) so if you get one over that mileage or approaching that mileage make sure it's done, factor it into the deal,a lot of Irish VW dealers know nothing about this and don't even have the special tool to do the job.

Other than that go for it and enjoy the drive, sound and handling :D

In my experience VW garages are clueless and will look at you like you have two heads when you ask about the Haldex either in ignorance or an attempt to not have to do it.Also don't let him tell you that Gen 2 Haldex set ups don't need the oil change the do,VW has reversed their original stance on this in other countries around the world.
