Car Hire in Spain (Barcelona)

    Afternoon,

Hope you're enjoying this cracking September day. I'm heading for Spain in the morning. My timing, as always, is perfect.

So yeah, I'm spending a few days in Barcelona but will be heading up the coast and want to hire a car for a few days. Just curious as to what hire companies people have used in the past. There are tons of them and prices (insurance) vary quite a lot.

I'll be picking it up in Gerona and dropping it back to the same place.

    Thanks in advance.

    CJ

When I'm going through Gerona I always use Hertz via the Ryanair site. Even if you have not booked with them they give you a favourable quote. Hired there 4 or 5 times so far with no problems. What I also do when I have time is hang back a bit and let the queue die diwn. Invariably they run out of cars and you end up with a free upgrade.

    Hope that helps.

Check out carjet.com, it's an English company that specialises in Spanish car rentals. They check the prices for all the local rental agencies and give you the best deal they can find. Used them three times before and very happy with them, always cheaper than Hertz, Alamo and all the big rental companies.

    Enjoy Barca, it's amazing!:)

I'm curious - why do you hire a car when you could take the bus to the city centre and avoid parking + driving hassle?
    Thanks
    Catherine
