comparing bikes

    hi,
    going to take advantage of the cycle to work scheme and buy a mountain bike in halfords. thinking of either getting a GT Aggressor XC 3 or a Carrera Vulcan V Spec but to be honest haven't a clue when it comes to bikes so looking for advice! i did the comparison on the website but sure i hadn't a clue what i was looking at really! the GT is more expensive so in bike terms does that mean better???

    GT has better brakes and uses shimano.

    Vulcan, well, uses sram.

    GT is miles better.

    So you have a choice of two bike and dressed it up on this forum as a cycle to work option only you didn't expect someone to start a thread post here that DublinStiofan's brother GT Agressor bike was nicked! So the van got a few bikes that day!

    Are you buying it second hand? If so i'd be interested in finding out where. My brothers GT was stolen today.
    Would just like to make sure its not his one from somebody trying to make a quick buck.

    If your buying from Halfords Gt's are great i swear by them.

    buying it from halfords dublinstiofan, i'm down in cork so its def not your brothers one (unless halfords have gone downhill!). sorry to hear that happened to your brother though, thats a pretty scummy thing to happen. i work in a school so will be taking my bike inside if this is whats happening now.
