A disturbing probe into the potential for apparently innocent biscuits' ability to do harm has revealed that an astounding 25 million Brits have been injured while indulging in some light coffee/tea break snack action, with 500 victims requiring hospital treatment.

That's according to research outfit Mindlab International, which determined that almost a third of adults had been scalded by hot beverages while dunking, 26 per cent had choked on crumbs and ten per cent had broken a tooth or filling while getting their laughing gear round a biscuit.

Rather more seriously, seven per cent of Britons have dropped a biscuit tin on their foot, three per cent have fallen off a chair reaching for vital nourishment, and an equal percentage have poked themselves in the eye with a biscuit.

I once beat a man to death with his own bourbon cream. Does that count?

I wonder are Jaffa Cakes and Tucs included in these statistics?

I doubt it, jaffa cakes are a "biscuit-like cake" and Tuc are obviously crackers! :pac:

I agree but alot of people would classify them both as biscuits, plus they are included in the biscuit section of supermarkets

Jaffa cakes are not biscuits. There was a court case about it.

Difference is that there is no VAT on cakes.

How the **** do you poke yourself in the eye with a biscuit?

I'm sorry dear, inexplicably while attempting to dunk this in my tea, I somehow rammed a digestive in my left eye and now I'm blind in it.

How big was the biscuit tins for gods sake? That would be the lamest excuse (apart from "I stuck a biscuit in my eyeball") for missing work due to a hospital visit.

As someone mentioned in another thread mother nature has gotten soft lately, these people should be dead, it can only spell disaster for the species if people this stupid go on to breed.

Jaffa Cakes are going oblong, so there'll be even more risk of serious injury, leading to limb amputations, blindness and dysentry.

Crumbs! This story really takes the biscuit! It will take me a while to digestive all that information. I nearly died eating a biscuit. I was lucky. Some might say I was a jammy dodger.

Don't laugh, poking yourself in the eye with a tea-soaked digestive biscuit is really painful :(

Also, did they take soggy biscuits into account?
