    Hi Guys

We have got the go ahead for a farmers market for Auinger st in the court yard on the 22 of sept 09. There will be one market a month on a trial run to see if it works,ie do you like it people.

This means that there will be food and products for sale in the court year on the 22nd of sept and I will be updating you on the next date. We Brian Gormely and myself have had a look at the market in full swing and it looks great. The smell of fresh food being cooked and for sale is class with a little it of music to keep ye happy.

I hope ye all enjoy it from all sites, its for all students and staff so enjoy and let us know what ye think!!!

Sounds like a good idea. A bit of a decent effort would wanna be put into advertisin' it in Kevin Street too though. I'm not sure how many would be bothered to walk from Bolton Street or somewhere else far for it but I'm sure many from Kevin Street would.. if we knew about it!

What sort of food and products?

    Hi Nick

Well to be fair we cant bring drink on to or anywhere near sites but we have been busy all summer and we have made deals with different bars and clubs around the city to cater for every student in dit. there will be a calendar coming out in the next few week for all sites to keep ye all informed.

I hope that keeps you all informed.

This is a good idea, i'll definitely check it out!

The only thing i'd be concerned about is the fact that Farmers/Organic market fare tends to be on the high end of the product pricing scale. I think for this to work, prospective vendors would have to always bare in mind they are selling to the student population and adjust their pricing accordingly.

If the vendors charge similar to the Howth/Harcourt farmers markets, i can see it flopping.

I think this is a really good idea. It would be nice to get some nice fresh produce. Plus I've never been in Aungier St so it will be a day out from the Brugha

    Hi Gazza22

The story is we are trying it out for a while and the food is good and not really expensive but you have to remember we have to try new things in college and get a bit of life in the place. Its open for suggestion so please let me know. I am trying to be positive here so please come along and enjoy. I am sure people from Bolton st and mount joy will take a trip over its Dublin people not London or new york.

So come along for some fun and something different.
