    Hi

I plan to go to USA in March. I would love to go to a few different places and not just the one destination.

Has anyone any ideas where and what i could do and also what's the cheapest way to book it...???

    Thanks

Nothing like a good vague query to open your account on boards! Welcome along...

    Any ideas about budget?

Are there any parts of the US that interest you in particular.

A couple of years back my wife and I did Vancouver, Chicago, Boston and Toronto over about 3.5 weeks. Travel cost about €1000 each, hotels about the same again and we probably spent about €3000 (or possibly more, I really can't remember). But it was probably one of the best trips I've ever taken.

Cheapest isn't always nest you know. If you have 6 months to kill then take the Inter-city grayhound bus, otherwise you'll probably have to fly between cities.

How long do you think you'll spend travelling?

last year I went on a trip to Nashville, Memphis, LA and Las Vegas for 10 days. This year San Fran and Las Vegas.

Flight cost about 800 euros. Hotels in LA were expensive. Las Vegas hotels can be cheap depending on which one you want to stay at.

Depends really want you want to do/in to?

If you like Theme Parks go for LA or Orlando or San Diego.

You could go on a California Trip to LA, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego. Or East Coast to Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC. Or even just Orlando and Miami.

Touramerica.ie, Sunway.ie, Clubtravel.ie, Gohop.ie and Americanholidays.com, Slatterys.ie offer multi-trip deals for 2 or 3 cities or taylor made packages. Or you can book yourself through ebookers.ie or expedia.ie for example.

Be wary to book your flights early for domestic US and on Tuesdays and Wednesday when the fares will be at their lowest. I flew around the states a few times this summer and there's nothing near Ryanair there (from whom I booked two flights to London for the grand total of 0.04c).

If you fly from Manchester to Sanford Orlando flights are 270 sterling with flythomascook.com, but be wary they have a glitch in there site where in the final stage of processing your booking an error can occur. and when you resubmit booking, you could get two sets of tickets in the post. Going to the states next week got flight to Orlando and two weeks car rental plus transfers from Dublin to Manchester all for 480 euro.

Could have flown direct on a Tuesday/Thursday with EI for ~€450, from what I remember when I was checking it.

Haven't seen any flights direct from Dublin cheaper than that unless you go with 1 or two stops just checked aer lingus and 657.61:eek:. Whereas Thomas Cook 320 Return + Ryanair to Manchester 40 euro return

Yeah I was checking flights for a friend a couple of weeks back for travel end of Sept and price was €455 return direct from DUB all inclusive. Best time to check and book are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, its when operators reduce prices the most.

To Cson I saw a few of them offers but there were some nasty lay overs in philly and Birmingham as well over 6 -9 hours on top of 8 hour flight. was that including car rental as well??

Im off to orlando on monday.Booked with gohop.ie.Only going for a week but they were over €100 cheaper pp than any of the rest (tour america, club etc). €630, rest were looking for €750+ . Was €900 to add new york for three or four days on way back. Also, if your prepared to fly from belfast you can save nearly another €100. Very helpful staff. Will defo be going back to them for my trip next year.

I don't know what your interests are, so ignore if this isn't your thing...

Wrestlemania 26 takes place in Phoenix, Arizona next March (28th) and it is quite a show to attend! Theres plenty in Phoenix and the Coyotes ice hockey team will also be playing the same weekend. Theres tours out of the city to Old Tuscon studios also. Even better is the fact that Las Vegas is a short flight away (€65 with US Airways) and theres always plenty to do there!

If the thought of Wrestlemania interests you, you can get more info on the Pro-Wrestling forum as well as hotel & flights info.

As I said, Wrestlemania will not be for everyone, but its a great experience that you could fit into your holiday!
