    Hi all,

I am on EI137 to Boston on Sunday. It leaves around 2pm and I was wondering does it clear immigration in Dublin (thinking only the morning flights do this). Will help me plan when I need to be in the airport.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes you'll clear immigration in DUB. I believe the evening JFK (EI109) and Orlando are the only EI flights which do not clear immigration. All flights via SNN clear immigration there.

If your there 3 hours in advance you should be fine.

Many thanks. Got access to lounge this time but benefit is lost when you have to go down to immigration early. Wonder in T2 if lounge will be after immigration.

The layout of T2 would indeed allow for a lounge after immigration, although I'd expect it to be located before immigration so that GC members can use it for short-haul flights.

Can someone tell me why the Orlando flight does not clear immigration at DUB even though it leaves two hours earlier than that flight to Boston. The reason I ask is because we are on the Orlando flight at the end of October and will have two small kids with us, so anything to make the experience a little more comfortable would be welcome.

The US immigration facilities in Pier B are not big enough to handle all US bound flights. Flights to JFK, Boston, Chicago etc are given priority over Orlando.

That's right, and coupled with the fact that you tend to get much more passengers with onward connections from those cities rather than Orlando, which tends to be a final destination from Ireland.

The pre clearance is much more important in the event of a tight for time onward connection.

Thanks for that explanation. This is the first time we have done the DUB flight to MCO in over three years, last time we went with AL it cleared immigration. I think we will go back to SNN, less hassle.
