I bought a 05 caddy during the week,my insurance company wants a copy of the DOE cert but I don't have it.It's taxed until 06/10,will the tax office have it or should the garage have it?

If you bought a van that was in test, the cert is part of the vehicle imo, and you are entitled to same from seller. It is possible to get a copy of the cert from the garage, dont know about the tax office.

The only place where a VTN (vehicle testing network) cert can be issued is from the test centre.
It would be much simpler and quicker to get it tested again-there are no restrictions on when and how many times you can test a van (except the money) unlike the NCT.
A test costs € 86 incl VAT and at least will give you an idea of current condition.
I get our vehicles tested in Nobber Motors (service@nobbermotors.ie) or 046 9096100.
