just saw this clip on you tube using Hitler to slag off brian cowen.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yjvCpHciYQ
if the link does not work, search for "NAMA my downfall".

Thought it was right on the money, and laughed my ass off the first time I watched it, but then showed it to someone who was less then impressed and didnt even bother to read the subtitles.

But it got me thinking that loads of people will be offended by Hitler being used as the comedy medium.

makes me wonder when it becomes socially acceptable to use people like Hitler or days like 9/11 in comedy sketches. Inglourious basterds also seemed to move this in the direction of parady.

i can see these things popping up on you tube and stuff, but what about mainstream media? RTE?

The amount of time is proportionate to the size of the tragedy. 9/11, it was about 6 months. Michael Jackson, it was about 6 seconds.

The key is finding the balance

Straight away, just be mindful of who you are making the jokes to. Thin line between dark comedy and being an insensitive and insulting jerk.
