I just tried to book my NCT test in Ballymun 1/2 and according to the website its fully booked until the 25/01/2010 except for tomorrow at 3pm.
My cars cert will expire the end of next month, I had it last done two years ago and had no problem picking the time, I can understand though with points for not having one.
    Anyway I have two questions.
Do the send you a letter allocating you a day and time.
If not how am I suppose to get it done???
    Thanks

    Nope.

It is up to you to book the test.

They used to notify people but don't do it anymore. These days it is up to the registered owner to to know when their car is due the NCT and to book a test.

Their website still states that they do notify you though.
