I'm looking for the name of a British sci fi show that aired on RTE in the 50's or 60's. It has a really long name, had a plot kind of like the plot from Invasion of the Body Snatchers (i.e. exponential spread of alien) and ended with them all being herded into an airfield or something and bombed...

Hope someone can help with the name...

    Thanks
    E

RTE tv didn't exist in the 50s, the first UK Science Fiction series was
    The Quatermass Experiment in 1953

Well it was either late 50's or 60's... I wasn't alive so I don't know...

But it could be that... Thanks

    EDIT: Nope not that one....

Sounds like Quatermass alright, can't remember the series but I remember well the film of the same name.

I've always wondered whats with the lack of Scifi on Irish tv, before Channel 6/3e I can't remember any being shown. Did RTÉ ever show any of the Star Treks?

RTE had Next Gen on Saturday evenings (on right after bath time, brilliant!). These days most sci-fi is relegated to the late hours when only "those types of people" would be up unless it has real mass market appeal.

RTE have shown several series in prime time slots on one or other channels from Battlestar Galactica (disco version) and Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century onwards.
