Does the frame affect the comfort of the bed?

I'm looking into getting a new bed, and I'd like a double one. I quite fancy a wooden frame. If I get a cheap frame, with a good mattress, will the cheap frame affect the quality of the mattress?

No not at all. The comfort is all in the mattress. The only issue with a cheap frame is that you will have to replace much quicker than if you spend a bit more money on it.

A bed frame that's not so well made may start to squeak and creak. Trouble is, not all expensive beds are better made. If you're purchasing a wooden bed give it a good shake to check for "solidness." Good luck!

Squek test is important especially if you have kids or share a house. I find metal to metal is easier to oil and stop sqeak than wood to wood. Although I have used those mufflers you get for the bottom of chairs on wooden parts of the bed and the have improved it.

From past experience the Divan type beds tend to be the least noisey although they are not the best looking
