I was at the doctor last friday and she gave me antibiotics for a throat infection. My glands were up particularly on one side and cause my gums to swell and my tongue. It was nearly impossible to swallow and very painful. Though it has become easier to swallow now, I am a little bit worried because my tongue is still quite sore, (I have been biting it quite a bit though as it has been swollen) and i have one or two mouth ulcers. I had very chapped lips at one stage i think on saturday and I bit my lip and it bled. Since then, a little sort of ulcery thing has formed. It's very close to my inner lip so would have gotten saliva on it etc. It's not really a blister and to me it doesn't look like a cold sore. I have never had cold sore's before so I'm wondering could this be a typical side effect of the sore throat, the antibiotics? I'm kinda convincing myself I have herpes at this stage and it's worryin me alot. Though, I wasn't with anyone who has it.

We can't really give medical advice, I would suggest you go back to your gp and ask about it.
