I'm using this modem with the 02 student broadband package. I've had it since January and this issue really only started being a problem in the last few days.

Usage has remained the same, in fact during the last college term I used a lot more to download from RS.com

Anyway, it seems that the modem is getting really hot to the point where it disconnects and gives me the "USIM/SIM not available" error. I can literally disconnect (USB) the modem and blow on the SIM and into the SIM slot to cool it down and it works after that.

These past few days I seem to be getting only about 5-10 minutes before I have to cool it down.

Has anybody else had this issue?

On another forum I read that a guy had drilled some holes in the plastic cover and he no longer gets disconnected.

Also, I have just changed the network settings to 3G only, I'll go play crysis now, it usually disconnects after 5 mins of online play

    I'll report back..

    thanks..

EDIT: Setting "3G Only" made no difference. I was disconnected after 5 mins of Crysis online.

It was only last week I could play endlessly without any disconnections? WHat has happened my modem? I will try get a replacement tomorrow and if that fails I will be drilling holes in it and possibly adding a heatsink
