Bernese,Burmese or Burnese?

Can anyone help settle a disagreement on the spelling of "Bernese Mt Dog"?

I spell it "Bernese", but someone today spelled it as "Burmese". Which is correct? I googled it and 3 different spellings came up!

I always thought it was called after Bern in Switzerland!

Thanks Lia yeh i did Wiki ..but 2 other options come up so i just want to see for deffo which is correct. Obviously Burmese is a cat breed ..but "Burnese"?

The IKC spell it "Bernese" so I'd go with that!

The Burmese one looks a lot like a German Shepherd.

I don't think it does. There are two front page google results. One has a bunch of pictures of german shepherds, the other describes a dog that hunts skunks and the page looks like a total piss take.

Its Bernese because they are from Berne in Switzerland I think.

as opposed to the "Entlebucher Sennhund"

Bernese is the right spelling, as far as I know anyways!
