I just moved into a new house which has digiweb installed in it, its got a Thomson THG520. However there doesnt seem to be wireless on this. Ive got a cisco EPC2425 which is a UPC router? can i set the digiweb up over this or?

I also have a small Belkin wireless G router lying around could I connect this somehow?

    Cheers Phil.

The THG520 is a cable modem - so you will need a router on the end of it - or plug your PC in directly.

The Cisco Router you have is probably a cable one too - so that wont work.

I would suggest using the belkin - it just needs Ethernet on the WAN side ( generally known as cable routers )

I feel obliged to warn people away from Belkin routers of any sort. The number of bad experiences friends of mine, some reports on boards and the internet, and customer problems with them in a place I used to work, spoke volumes for me.

Get a Linksys, Buffalo or some of the d-link and netgear routers out there. You won't regret it, especially if you look for reviews on newegg etc.

If it works for you, count yourself lucky:p

Old reliable, the WRG54L. Belkin products have a tendency to be, well, crap. I've had a fair few, and wouldn't exactly recommend them.

That Cisco cable modem you have is probably the property of UPC, and should be returned. It's absolutely useless to you anyway, as you can never use it.

    Is the broadband actually active?

If so, then just connect a router to the ethernet port at the back of the Thomson.

I also would recommend the Linksys, rather than the Belkin !
