Renault Clio limp mode

    Hi all,
Having major issues with my wife's 02 Clio which even main dealer is having trouble fixing. Basically when the roads are very wet - the car goes into limp mode. When the diagnostics are read the reading is indicating the throttle body, but replacing this is about 600 euros with no guarantee that this is the problem. The main dealer has already cleaned out the throttle body.

    Anybody any ideas?

    Keith

Maybe a second hand throttle body might be worth trying, came across 2 clio's in the breakers yard beside
the Redcow(Kinsellas now), cost about €40 to €50. Hope you get it sorted.

Muckie, might try route alright - did you then have to get programmed by renault's diagnostics?

    Cheers

Remember seeing something on another website about this... corrosion on the terminals in the black box beside the battery can also cause this problem... usually the lower white multiplug is the culprit. Have a look, see if it's corroded.
