I just got a new laptop and I am wondering how I can take the songs that are on my family computer onto my laptop. I have about 5,000 songs on the iTunes on my family computer and now I want them on my laptop, any advice?

Look for your iTunes folder on the family computer. It should contain the library files and the iTunes Music folder. Copy the whole iTunes folder to your laptop (usually over a network or External hard drive). When you open iTunes on your laptop hold down the alt(option) key on start up which will ask you to locate the library. Steer it to where you copied the folder, and hey presto!

cheers I will try that, it's a lot of computer jargon to me but a lot of my friends are computer experts so they will be able to direct me what to do.

There's a nifty little program called mojo which can read and copy your itunes library between computers. If both computers are on the same wireless/wired network it will find them automagically and its just a case of dragging and dropping then leaving it to do its thing... simples :)
