Gran Turismo 5 Releasing September 25th UK (Rumor)

PSBeyond has just been informed from an extremely reliable source that the highly anticipated racer for PlayStation 3, Gran Turismo 5, is being released this month...that's right, September 25th in actual fact in the UK. Word comes from a Sony official direct, and the news will certainly please many fans who have waited an exceptionally long time to see Polyphony Digitals next installment on store shelves.

The date actually coincides with that of the Tokyo Games Show 2009, so expect a ground breaing announcement from Sony and Polyphony then.

With plenty of weeks left then in the run up to christmas, Sony must be prizing this title to help push their recently launched 120GB PS3 Slim, which hit retail globally on September 1st, to maximise sales. Expect a brand new bundle and new accessories to launch with this title very very soon.

Keep coming back to PSB for a full review of this title in the coming weeks, and look out for the PlayStation Portable GT in October.

Haven't hear of PSB before. If the rumour turns out to be true, I'll head there more often. For now though, I'm not getting my hopes up until one of the bigger companies confirm this.

Every other date is pointing to December 4th and id say thats more likely for christmas

To me it seems like they are just looking for attention, thinking and knowing someone will post this on a forum and then the site will be advertised and some people who may believe it will register and so on...

They would not rush such a big game out in the market so fast...They would more than likely wait for christmas to release it and get more sales...

Absolutely zero chance of this happening in my opinion. Gran Turismo PSP is slated for release before GT5 and releasing GT5 before it would effectively kill the PSP sales. I reckon were looking at a November/December release and probably a PS3 Slim Bundle as well.

Highly doubt it, everyone knows this is gonna be a launch title for the PS4!

It could be true a friend of mine was telling me yesterday that he was told in Game it was on their system for release on the 25th of Sept. He was adamant it was for PS3 not PSP

The PSP one was due out the end of the month, maybe a mix up between the two higher up the line??

Really doubt that game would have the inside scoop on it. These thing would be kept relatively secrets beside rumours etc..

Yeah I doubt a retailer will have the massive inside information before the general public. Plus, we're cutting it with 2 weeks to go. While I really, really want to believe this game will get out by then, the hype machine needs to get turning.

The PSP version isn't out 'till October and only now are we really seeing the PR and hype come behind it with special bundle announcements and what not...

Not quite. It says a 250GB bundle is coming in October with Uncharted 2. No mention of GT5 bundle beyond already mentioned Q4 09.
