Startup business and contracts

    Hi,

Mods feel free to move if required.

I'm hoping someone can tell me if an agreement between a business and a client is in anyway legally binding if it is not drawn up by a solicitor?

I'm working on a startup that is in essence a middle-man service and I'm wondering if it's worth considering drawing up a contract of sorts myself.

Even now as I post though, I realise that if there was any chance of losing money or future business over a badly drawn-up agreement it would be crazy not to consult a solicitor to compose a suitable generic contract/agreement to cover the majority of cases.

Would I be naive not to go to a solicitor?

A contact is an agreement between two people - nothing to do with who draws it up. As a "middle man" I would be inclined to have a brief scan it and you are in the middle - could be a nasty position at times
