I'm going to Edinburgh soon with a few friends, and well it will probably end up being a massive piss up, but I'd like to see some stuff in the city. I've heard to stay near the Royal Mile in the Old Town is good, cos it combines proximity to sights and proximity to the session. Any other places?

My OH and her friends are off to Edingburgh soon and I booked her this amazing self catering apartment.

We stayed in the Apex hotel on the Grassmarket. Lovely hotel - and when you're hungover, you can go for a roast hog roll the next day.

Jury's Inn is nice and central as well. It's only a couple of minutes walk from Waverly railway station and the bus that takes you in from the airport. It's not far from the Royal Mile either.
