Is that 14 year championship run a record? It surely must be.

after last years final to be honest im not surprised. the average age of that team must be quite old with the likes of oisin mc conville and the McEntee's pushin on.

With Cross,Nemo and St Vincents gone, this year is going to be a very open All Ireland Club Championship.

Great for all the other teams in Armagh, gives them a glimmer of hope of actually winning the county championship.

As for the All-Ireland, After winning it this year, I thought it would be impossible to win anything, not having a break, and after the 1st round defeat I was sure we wouldn't do anything this year, but after a few good results, there's murmurings of a double around Kilmacud way. *Watch this space*

Think Ballina Stephenites in Mayo also hold a similar record,Cross were hopeing to surpass it this year.

Is there a back door in the Armagh SFC?If there is then it is even more of an achievement to go unbeaten for that long

I think it will be much harder for Kilmacud Crokes to come back and win it again. They haven't been going well in Division 1 like ourselves (St Vincents) and Vaughan seems injured and Davoran is a huge void to fill. They have beaten Round Towers and other teams since losing to Lucan Sarsfields but it could be asked if those teams were serious opposition.

With the likes of Plunketts,Judes,Mary's,Kickhams and Ballyboden (going very well this year) if Kilmacud win it this year it will be some achievement.

No back door or second chances in the county championship. In my opinion, Cross were the greatest club team in the country over the past decade.

Yeah very true. Still as some said, 14 years must surely be a record. Portumna are still in the Hurling though ?

Cross won 13 county championships in a row matching the current record. They won the league 10 weeks ago at a canter. I'd say they didn't train hard enough as they are usually playing at the end of the year / beginning of the year.
Anyhow best club team ever - not even the decade. They constantly changed their team over those years - a few hardcore were involved - and probably didn't win enough. I'd say that a few years ago they probably would got to the Q/F of the All-Ireland inter-county championships at their ease.

However it has to be said they won the majority of their 13 in a row at their own ground as the Sh*t hole Athletic Grounds was closed for years and Cross's ground became the county ground. Honest to God you'd want to see the Athetic Grounds now after the refurbishment - its as if someone started a great project and then decided to let the lunatics from the asylum have a go. In fact thats probably a slight on the lunatics
