Hi, so i went up to the community welfare officer today to ask for a supplementary welfare payment whilst im waiting on my dole payment. She took my form and said all was grand and just before she finished up she said, i'l be out to visit at some stage in the week. Is this normal just for supplementary payment? Im not too worried as I have nothing to hide, I just find it quite strange. I'm living at home with my parents, but i'm over 25 and they are both pensioners so I cant see how it would affect my means test.......

Anyone got 2 cents to add??

It's normal. It's just to see that you're living where you say you're living and that your living conditions are acceptable.

A friend of mine had a home visit and was told he won't receive payment until the landlord provided a wardrobe in the room for him.
