Just looking to ascertain potential interest in this grinder if it were available locally for around €40/€45...?

Also possibilities might exist for TCA-2 syphon brewers and V60 filter cones (all Hario).

Interest here may determine whether these become available (nothing to do with me btw).

Mr M - If this oversteps commercial lines, feel free to delete, just thought there had been a bit of interest in the grinder lately.

The kyocera is definitely sexier. I like the size of it. Had a play with Doodee's one (no sexual puns please!) at one of the meet ups.

Good news guys. Coffee Angel have received the grinders (and some other stuff).

If it's ok I'll just copy and paste some of the email I got from Karl regarding this stuff.
    Prices are as follows:

    V60-1 cup Brewer (white ceramic) = €17.95

    V60 Paper Filters (100) = €4.95

If they are interested, they can just contact me directly at info@coffeeangel.com . i can send through a paypal invoice for CC payment (paypal acct not necessary). Shipping will be through An Post and charged at cost (€8 for the Skerton / €8 for V60 & 1 box of Filters). They can also collect from any of the Dockland MCU’s.

There will be a 10% discount available if WE LOVE RE*AC*TOR is used in the Subject line ;-) Discount available until 07/10/2009.

    Hi All,

I haven't posted directly due to board rules, but if it's ok - as was mentioned above - I wanted to update shipping costs for the Hario items.

An Post were kind enough to charge me less that was anticipated for shipping domestically - €6 for the Skerton / €6 for V60 & 100 pack filters and €8.50 for Skerton, V60 & filters.

i've credited back the amounts overcharged to everyone - i hope. please let me know if i've missed you. i'd also welcome any feedback (pros or cons) on the gear.

Please feel free to delete this post if I've crossed the line...

got mine aswell, can't try it till i get home...

one thing that struck me, is the amount of play in the burrs, seems strange...

Regardless of play, decent grinder, it has to be said....only used it for aeropress so far. Grind is pretty consistant, some coarser grounds getting in there, but overall no biggie.

Bought a Kyocera recently, and the Hario is definately a better bit of kit imo. The Kyocera is a good bit smaller, but not as easy to adjust. Static also seems to be a problem with the Kyocera, haven't seen it with the Hario. Purely on the size alone, grinding using the Hario is easier aswell.

How is everyone getting on with the Hario V60? Any detail online about brewing specifics? I've used it a couple of times while dialling in the Skerton and once with the Antigua at the finest setting. I was impressed with the results using the Antigua though extraction was just over 2 minutes which I'd imagine is too quick?

2 minutes is only too quick if your coffee is too coarse for that brew length.
