I have been renting for the last four months and receiving JSA during this time but am moving out of my current flat in the next week into a new rented house. Am wondering am I entitled to rent allowance in 2 months time, as I will have been renting for a six month period by that time or Do you have to be living in the same rented property for the 6 months before you can claim for rent allowance?

You should get yourself on the local authority housing list for your area.

Once you're on that you can apply for rent allowance.

    no, you don't.

the six months thing is for people who don't go on the housing list.. although from what I've heard they make everyone go on it nowadays.
