    What's it actually like?

Is it hard to actually get to do your fitness program, or is there enough equipment for everyone?

Cheers for any extra info as well. Muchos Gracias.:D

    Fresher?
The gym will be very busy for the first two-three weeks of term but that dies off when people get lazy again. Demand also picks up in the new year too.
Well it depends on what your programme is and what time you intend on doing it at. During lunch and between 5 and 7 in the evenings is the peak time so you will have to wait to use the machines, not too long though, though if you have a fixed routine (say you only bench after squats) you might have to be flexible. The gym was extended this summer and more machines added, so that should hopefully ease the congestion at peak times.

The pool is lanes only at peak times, and if you can't swim well, avoid at this time as you will piss others off.

Fairly quiet after the rush in the first few weeks iirc.

Is the bench on rails or just like a normal bench?? Cos I hate those guided rail benches!

Yeah they've lockers but you've to buy locks for them in the sports centre (€10). Fairly sturdy locks anyway.

25 metres, as far as I recall. Tends to be 6 lanes (2 slow, 2 medium, 2 fast) or 3 x 1 of each and then the rest is left open. It depends. I only went in the morning time, though.

Both. There's at least 4 olympic bars, maybe more after the extension now, with rails and normal benches available.

For anyone wanting to do weights in the morning, the rugby club is in there between 8-9am monday-thursday with about 20 guys. You can still do you're routine but just that bit crowded at that time.

Damn. I was planning on doing it then. I hear they're fairly territorial with the equipment.

Not so sure about the second part of your question but afaik the cost of gym membership is €77 and should have been payed as part of the €1585 most people pay for registration.

Go into the building, go through the barriers/ID check (you can see it through the window once you're through those) and turn to your left, go through double doors, downstairs and through more doors. There's a another set of barriers, but they're not always turned on. Then take off your shoes and socks in the "vanity area" where the hairdryers, etc are. Then go around to the changing area, showers and toilers are located there, too.
