Please, Walcott's just a big black hero hanging out on a beach somewhere drinking Sangria out of pineapples and having casual sex... What a hero!

My friend met him when he (As in the friend) won a short story competition, apparently he's a really nice guy, cant imagine Walcott being too pleasant tbh.

Paddy Kavanagh. Id give him a smack .

    WB Yeats hands down.

Only one I would have any interest in meeting and he would be very interesting! Patriot and occultist, a winning combination.

Yeats was never a people person. Preferred to stay away from Sligo people cept the aristocracy at the time.

Have you studied every poet, and came to the conclusion that you don't like any of their charchters?

Can anyone help me on the poem Shancoduff?

1.How would you desribe Kavagnah's relationship with Shancoduff?
How might this poem be seen as 'a love poem to a place?

In the answer you have to use Statemnt,Explaination and Quote

If you can't find the poem just type in Shancoduff and the poem would come up

    Thanks:D

Adrienne Rich of course, although i was reading her overview and it turns out she's a lesbian, i hope she doesn't get handsy when she's drunk. :D

I've only done three so far but it had to be T.S Eliot to ask him what his poetry is about ? It's so confusing

Last I heard Walcott was planning on setting up his own rip off version of the playboy mansion on a Carribean beach with Kavanagh and a few of the lads.

Aw out with Kavanagh,Walcott and Rich imagine that. Kavanagh and Walcott ripping the p1ss outta her!! Kavanagh was just a teenage dirtbag baby...and he robbed a post office!! What's not to love?!! All of Rich's poetry is lesbian propaganda..women as equals!! Wouldn't happen in shancoduff!!

    I like this Q!
Hmm I think Yeats, I'm very patriotic and I'd say he'd be a good conversationalist...a good drunk too!It would have to be whiskey with him I think...
Although I wouldn't mind a drink with Walcott either...I'm not doing him but I read his bio and he seems cool!Defo malibu with pineapple or coke with him....every time my friend drinks malibu he says its like reading a Walcott poem anyway!
    =]

Here's how I break it down:
Boland: Your mate from dundrum's ma. Lots of fun
Eliot: Egotistical depressing and snobby. No thanks
Kavanagh: The architypal self important culchie. God no
Keats: Probably a very nice guy, but not exactly a manly man....
Longley: Boring. Average guy, average poet. meh
Rich: Shrill. Annoying. Make me a damn sammich
Walcott: Not really a good person, but radiates sun, sand sex and cool
Yeats: Fun, but just a shade mad.....

Yeah he robbed one when he was in the IRA,it's all in the poetry book. I liked Kavanagh's poetry...Rich was such a complainer, she complained about everything!!! Husband alive-Not happy, Husband dead-Not happy, And what was the deal with her staring at beatles and imaging a beatle city, that woman had issues. Original point, pub with walcott and kavanagh..Disco with yeats, he'd score all 'round him.
