Getting the old HD box installed tomorrow and I have read that Pace is the best brand box to go for. The engineer rang earlier to confirm a time for tomorrow and I asked if I could get a Pace box and he said he would try to get one for me and if not it would be a Samsung.

He did go on to say that there was a lot of bother recently with the Pace models and he would recommend the Samsung.

    Any thoughts on this guys?

Samsung will be fine. Its true some of the Pace boxes have had issues. Amstrad or Samsung possibly the way forward. How long was it since you ordered HD?

The Samsung Boxes are fine only drawback is they dont have the new HD Guide available but Sky are going to be starting to roll this out late next week so within the next few weeks all HD boxes will have the new guide.

I personally find the Pace boxes a little faster at changing channels....but overall I am satisfied with the Samsung so enjoy mate...

Are Amstrad box's installed in Ireland.., or is it just Pack or Samsung?
I believe the Amstrad box's will be the last to get the the new EPG?

I've never seen an Amstrad HD box in Ireland....have seen std and skyplus but definetly would return any shipment of them if they came my way...

Many thanks for the replies guys. Im a bit happier now knowing that either box will or should be good.

In relation to ordering - it was done around August 23 or 24 which isnt bad considering they told me when I rang about it that it could take up to 6 weeks.
