    Hey all,

I've been scrolling through the list of Olympic Games results on sporting-heroes.net using "IRL" , "IRE" and "EIR" in the search function. I came up with the following results but I dont know if this is complete or not as sporting-heroes only gives top 6 to some events from the 60's and before that.

1928 Pat O'Callaghan GOLD Hammer Men
1932 Bob Tisdall GOLD 400m Hurdles Men
1932 Pat O'Callaghan GOLD Hammer Men
1932 Eamonn Fitzgerald 4th Triple Jump Men
1932 Bob Tisdall 8th Decathlon Men
1956 Ron Delany GOLD 1500m Men
1960 John Lawlor 4th Hammer Men
    1976 Eamonn Coghlan 4th 1500m Men
    1980 Eamonn Coghlan 4th 5000m Men
    1980 John Treacy 7th 5000m Men
1984 John Treacy SILVER Marathon Men
    1984 Caroline O'Shea 8th 800m Women
    1988 Marcus O'Sullivan 8th 1500m Men
    1992 Jimmy McDonald 6th 20k Walk Men
    1992 Sonia O'Sullivan 4th 3000m Women
    2000 Sonia O'Sullivan SILVER 5000m Women
    2000 Sonia O'Sullivan 6th 10000m Women
    2008 Rob Heffernan 8th 20k Walk Men
    2008 Olive Loughnane 7th 20k Walk Women

If anybody knows of anybody I have left out please let me know. Just from 1924 onwards as before that all our athletes represented GB!

Try a book called " Faster, Higher, Stronger - A History of Ireland's Olympians" which contains a complete listing of everyone Irish who has ever competed in an Olympic Games and was published by Ashfield Press last summer in time for Beijing. Corrections are at www.irisholympians.com
