I drive a corsa OPC. Powerful wee thing considering the size and weight. Im 28 and have no points. I'm comprehensive and last year my insurance was ~€600. The quote from my broker came through the post today giving me two quotes for the next 12 months.
The first was for the direct continuation of my current policy. Quote = €944. Same company, same policy, same coverage. Over a 50% increase
Second quote from a (yet) unnamed insurer was for €524.

Without a shadow of a doubt im going for the €524 price, but are insurance companies just plucking figures out of their @rse when it comes to renewals. How do they expect to keep customers or is it just "swings and roundabouts"?
