Really curious to know what I got, I'm really worried of getting a crap grade in anything.

No point being nervous on the 9th though cause the results are already decided and have been since august, being all nervous wont change them so im staying mildly cool.

You'll be fine. Unless you left questions out, it's unlikely you will fail.

Like you said, don't be worrying about things you can't change.

It still feels far away for me. 24 hours...it's ages. Then again, the exams were done 3 months ago now...I'm already back at school, already into a routine. It barely feels like I did the exam. Really, I feel abit tired after football training.

I'm not nervous...at all. I'm mildly curious, hope for a B in English and mainly can't wait for the night after. :D:D

Yeah, I was really bored yesterday, so I did some maths (yes, that bored).

If I've filled the equivalent of ten 120-page copies for a subject like English or Irish over the past three years (and that's a conservative estimate), then that means like 1200 pages per subject. That's 24000 lines. 150000 words. That's like half a million letters.

And all of it condensed into a single letter between A and F.

So for anyone starting first year who's finding the work menial and worthless, just remember that every letter you write contributes 12 atoms towards your final mark! :D

Seriously though. My parents said they'll beat me if I get a C.

    A little tired...

Seriously, not too bothered. Once Wednesday is over I'll never see those results again.

About 2:30-3ish, an hour or so before they go live on The Examinations Commision site

Try not to think much about it, I'm trying to convince myself it's just another day tomorrow. I'm in Transition year now and I'm bussier than I ever was most of third year. :)

I'm only worried about English, Music, Science, Irish, History and Art. I intended that list to be small but it grew as I went along.

Everyone who's getting off early is very lucky, I'm not getting any half day, they're leaving it till Friday which is okay I suppose, but by then I think everything to do with the Junior cert will have worn off. I think I'm getting mine before lunch, that's the idea anyway, won't be able to consentrate at all. On the up side I'm going horse riding with the school tomorrow, this should be interesting xD

Off to do my Transition year French and maths now:pac:

I'm mostly worried about Business, left a question out by accident and hardly could answer anything, got an E in my mocks so I most likely am doomed for that :(

Is the thought of tomorrow night keeping anyone content at the moment? Because thats the only thing keeping me happy at the moment. Didnt think id feel so nervous :(

I'm actually not nervous at all now,its like i don't even know i'm getting my results tomorrow!like just another normal day!
which it is really, but i know all the same i will get nervous when i get to the school!
we're getting the day off(which i'm so happy about cos we have double maths, double english and double biology tomorrow!) and we can collect them from half nine onwards.
maths, business, home ec and english is going to be bad enough for me i think!but i don't really care now, what's done is done!i just hope i pass(or maybeeee, just maybe get an honour!)!
the teachers in my school said you can't get your junior cert results online only your leaving.they lied to us!!but i suppose I won't get my pin now!
Good luck to everyone tomorrow,i hope ye all do well and get what ye want!

Nothing you can do about it now so no point in worrying.

I'm abit more apprehensive yesterday but not nervous...more excited.

I won't make any predictions in case they're horribly wrong (hopefully not...please a B in English God!!! The exam day was so hot...give us extra marks for having to think about writing methods in the sweltering heat).

What I'm most worried about is going over for my results, my sister was saying they make comments when they are handing them out like 'Oh that was very good', so if mine is crap I don't know what they will say!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,512 ✭✭✭Damo 2k9

I dont think the teachers should be aloud to look at them first? Like we should get them then bring them to the secretary to be photocopied for the school records.
Were getting them as soon as the postman comes with them, altough i did see my principal last year collecting them at the post office on the way to school, hopefully we get them early, even if im not aloud go home im going home anyway :P

It's far easier for a school to run them through a photocopier for records in one batch than rely on scores of teenagers to each bring their results to the office to be copied.

There are a number of school housekeeping checks that need to be run on results, so they can't just be handed straight out. They also need to be put in envelopes. Usually no more than a couple of teachers see them before they are given out. Most schools leave the 'all-in-one' results sheet for staff. It does not have names on it.

Haha as a little kid I always thought it would be so nerve-wracking to be getting Junior Cert results and I would be freaking out all week/month/year about it :pac:

Eh, really though, there hasn't been a mention of the JC since we did it... I totally forgot about it. The teachers have only mentioned it in passing once or twice. Tbh I always thought it would matter a little bit more than this.

I don't really understand how anybody could take the course for three years, do the mocks, etc. and not be sure whether they passed or failed something though..

Really? I thought the all-in-one results had the names on 'em, and the schools kept that and life was dandy.
I was wondering why the principal needed so much time. Out of curiosity, does anyone know the period the marking is done, and the results are printed?

The marking is done during July, more or less. The results are transferred from the scripts to the computer system once the Leaving Cert results are out, so after mid-August. This can take a while.
I don't know when they actually print them, but I know staff in the SEC are waiting to go on their holidays once they are out, so I don't think they take any longer than necessary.
