Student Assistance Fund...How Much???

    Im startin in dit next week and I want to apply for the student assistance fund. Does anyone know how much they might give you? because theres no info anywhere about the amounts you may recieve. Also i had a friend tell me that you can choose how much you want each week..Is that true??? Im so confused. :(

    i think this is a once off help and its anything up to 800 euro.didnt apply for it myself yet but i believe it supposed to help the student in financing books,rent,travel etc. http://www.studentfinance.ie/ offers some kind of explanation what it is and how one can apply but i think you're better off asking in the grants office. also you can enquire about the millenium partnership fund at your local coco:)

    In UCD the cheques were sent out last week. Depending on your income (you really need to be receiving nothing) it varies. For a household income of about €20k and if expenditure exceeds income (which it must) by about €1500, u will receive about €500.

    In 2009/10 they are only giving cheques out once due to budget cuts.

    I'd say it is similar enough in DIT
