Iphone ringer problem!! please help

    Hi All,

    just joined forum looks helpful.

    I have one problem with my ihone 2g. it was working perfectly up to a week or so ago when the speaker/ringer stopped working.

    The phone works fine with the headphones in but once i take them out there is no sounds from the phone - i.e. ring tone, keyboard clicks, ipod etc nothing.

    Any help would be much appreciated

    This sounds like a similar problem I had. It's supposedly caused by dust getting into the headphone jack, causing the phone to think the headphones are still plugged in. Try plugging and unplugging your headphones rapidly a few times and see if that helps. Also, try plugging your headphones in and playing music, then pausing before pulling out your headphones and see if that works.

    None of this helped for me though, I eventually had to send my handset back to Apple for replacement.
