Usb modem and IE problem

Hi, im in nz at the moment and recently bought a 3g usb modem(exact same as o2 in ireland). It connects to the internet grand, but i still cant open web pages in IE. Does anyone know what boxes should be ticked in the internet options section? my avg is out of date, would this be a problem? i used an o2 modem back in…

i used an o2 modem back in ireland and that was no prob, i uninstalled the software for that because i thought that might be the prob, conflicting or whatever, but still no joy. In the list of dial up\vpn connections, should there only be one connection there, and set as default? thanks
