    Folks,

Im trying to block access to Games here at work. Ive set up a Group policy and added sol.exe, spider.exe, etc to the list. Policy was pushed out over the weekend, but spider solitaire can still be accessed. Solitaire cant though.

Just wondering if Im missing something?

Make sure this new policy doesn't get overwritten by another one.

For some clients I run a custom script that checks and if needed uninstalls certain software. The games that come with the OS are part of that script.

    Hi qwertz,

Doesnt look like its being overwritten as its blocking sol.exe but not blocking the others like freecell.exe or spider.exe

try a policy per game mate just to rule out any other problems first. ;)

Another thing, your policy (when it works) only prevents the execution of sol.exe, spider.exe and whatever else you have specified. "Creative" users can rename the files and play away.

Try the run only allowed option
and only grant the apps they need.
Requires a bit of playing around to ensure you dont stop required apps
otherwise what I do is create a custom MMC with shortcuts to the required apps in it and set it as the custom shell.
Also remove the new task option from task manager and
that locks them down prety well.
Very handy for machines out on the floor!:D
