back when i first got it there was practically nothing on it, and there was small adds in the corner and on the bottom of the screen, that was fine. a few weeks later they had an add that ya cant skip every 5 songs or so.
    now its after EVERY song!!
i had a huge playlist going on saturday because i had friends over and we kept adding stuff onto the list, but by the time the song came we werent in the humor of say the next 2 songs, means we have to watch the same ad twice  that il2 game looks crap btw

    end rant.

This is a big problem that the people at Sony are working hard to fix. Shouldn't be that way at all. Message vidzone on twitter and they can help you.

I use the internet browser to use Deezer, all though lots of songs now have region restrictions its still miles better than vidzone.

VidZone annoy's me because of how long it takes to buffer a song. Can't complain too much though, it is free :D

I have the same problem since it launched, only thing you can do is ring eircom and ask them why your IP traces back to outside Ireland.

Do you have more than one playstation account? I tried to connect to it while logged into my American account by mistake and got the fatal error message.
Logged out and back into my Irish account and it worked fine.

Loads pretty much instantly for me and I`m not on a particularly fast connection.

    Ed your safe.
There is an option to turn off the display artist/song on XMB in the settings menu.

So enjoy the dolls and beyonce:D

Patch is out, annoying ads are gone, plus full screen videos

    eurogam,er wrote:

Sony has issued a major update for VidZone, the PS3's music video service, promising full 16:9 playback and less annoying adverts.

"First of all, an apology," wrote Ben Creasey, VidZone's head of production, on the EU PlayStation blog.

"You might have been noticing an increasingly frequent and increasingly annoying amount of adverts in-between videos recently. This was due to a bug and was certainly not intentional and we have been working like dogs to fix it."

And fixed it they have, along with various other niggles users of the service complained about. Videos shot in widescreen will now be displayed in full 16:9, taking up the whole of your telly. The Virtual Keyboard is supported and the Search function has been overhauled to make finding videos faster.

The start-up time has been reduced and audio volume has been normalised, so each video will play at the same level of loudness. Your XMB profile will show which video you are watching, "So no more secret Celine Dion video viewing sessions."

Videos now link to their downloadable Rock Band counterparts where applicable, default settings are saved and the cache has been increased so less streaming is involved. And finally, help screens have been introduced and the settings menu has been reordered.
