Threads not being marked as read

This seems to be sporadic but most of the time when I read a thread and then go back to the forum it's in, it's still showing as if it has new posts.
The only time they get marked as read is if I'm inactive for period of time (presuming session cookies time-out) or if I manually mark the forum read.

Is this clientside? I mainly use FF3.5.2 and it's been happening for months now.

Apologies if it's something on my end but I've checked that all cookies are allowed etc. :)

For example, I posted this, went back to the forum, viewed the thread again, and went back to the forum and it was still showing as unread.

*Might* be a corrupted Firefox installation if it's not anything else; I haven't noticed any problems with this myself and haven't had any other reports.

If it's a corrupt installation, you have to do a little more than just use the uninstallation system, there's some stuff in the App Data path on your OS that needs to be removed also. You can read more on it here.

Thanks Ross, some good info in that link.

I'll try a fresh install later and report back. :)

Fresh install of FF didn't help, could it be that as I'm using the same pc from different locations (laptop - work and home) that it's causing cookie or session hash issues?
It goes away if I delete cookies but soon returns after a day or two.

I experience the same problem from time to time - especially for much of yesterday.

OS, browser, times if you would lads!

The thread marking is cookie-based, if you're using different browsers or computers changes won't carry across.
