    Hi guys,

Myself and the girlfriend were travelling back from wexford towards dublin today when the car cut out on us. After having AA assistance come out and tell us what the problem is but not being able to fix it because of our policy, we ended up leaving the car in a garage off the N11 near lil Doyle's in wicklow.

What I want to know is does anyone know a mechanic in the area that would come out and fix it tomorrow? the AA guy said it'd be about 300 to tow it up to dublin and then whatever after that to get it fixed so i reckon i'd be better off getting it fixed on the roadside and save the 300 euro fee.

    Anyone got any recommendations?

    Cheers!

Not physically snapped but the AA guy said the teeth were missing off it? not the best with cars so my limited knowledge ends there i'm afraid :(

Was the belt due a change?

Sounds like its skipped a few teeth, you'll need a new belt fitted and the water pump + idlers checked out.... then they'll need to check the engine for damage...

best get a recommendation of a local Indy who can do this work...

it has more than likely bent valves, so the cylinder head would have to come off to replace them.
