Getting started/ groups

I was thinking of giving airsoft a go a few yrs ago but it seemed like a really murky secretive world then! I've got at lot of time on my hands at the moment so I might try again.

Is there any like database of clubs or groups to try and find people in a particular area? Or is there anyone out there reading this who is just starting out at it to??

Do a lot of teams wanted experienced people and not beginners? Also, is it totally an RDF/ Army thing? or is there a big mis of people?

    Thanks for the help!

People from all walks of life play not just RDF/PDF types. And theres always a need for new players, we need this sport to keep growing :)

Check out the IAA website, not sure, but I think they have a DB of teams, also the recruitment thread here.

This is a question we get a loat at the moment (I'm currently looking at updating the website with the most common of the thousands of questions we got at salute last week).

I'd say check out the Teams recruitment thread here, or head to your local site and see which if the teams there seem the soundest, that's how 99% of people get into it.

does this mean your setting up a data base of IAA members/players for all to see??:confused:

manofthemoment, Hellfire/GoTac have a facility in Bray, their web addy is somewhere in the getting started section or you can find them thru the IAA site. I'm not sure about teams but they run skirmishes that anyone can join, just call the shop to book a place. A couple of mates went on their 1st skirmish on Sunday and said it was a good facility with well-run/well-marshalled skirmishes, worth checking out as it's the exact location you're looking for.

Nope, but a lot of people ask stuff like "Do you need to be in a team to play" and stuff like that, questions that need to be answered.
