i am considering buying a bed and mattress from ikea. i am just wondering if anyone has bought a mattress from them and if it is of good quality. i was impressed with their testing equipment that they have in store for their kitchen drawers, seats etc etc in the closealed glass cabinets but dont remember seeing 1 for their matresses. i was looking at the "SULTAN HAGAVIK Sprung mattress"

I bought two of those matresses (King and double). They're nice and firm, and so far (4 weeks old) I've had no issues and have slept very well on them. My sister and her husband bought Ikea matresses a couple of years ago and they're very happy. I think the key thing is to get the best one you can afford. And don't be afraid to try them out in store. I found the staff very helpful and it was good to be able to lie out on them and turn around in them to see how well they suited your sleeping position.

Actually IKEA mattresses and frames have a very good reputation in Sweden, and alot of people opt to buy them there regardless of budget. And as Irlrobins said, check them out in store to see if its what you're after. I'm quite sure it is far from the strangest thing to be done in any IKEA store :D
